FIND A DOCUMENT BY DOCKET NUMBERIn order to find a document by its Office of Administrative Law (OAL) docket number, enter the number in the box provided, and click "Submit." NOTE: All OAL docket numbers start with a three letter department code, then between three and six numbers, a dash, and a two letter year code. For example: eds8604-96 is a valid docket number. The dash before the year code is mandatory. Do not include any spaces between characters.

SEARCH FOR CASES BY JUDGE OR PARTY NAMETo find cases by the names of the parties involved, First select the courts that you wish to search. Then enter names in the appropriate boxes. It does not matter which box gets the plaintiff and which gets the defendant. Enter as much or as little as you want of the name.

In addition, note that at the top of each initial decision, there is a link to any related final (as well as other related initial decisions) that we have. A good search strategy is to search the initial decisions for a case you want, and then use the initial decision's links to get to the final decisions. If you do not already have an Acrobat reader, you can get one for free by clicking on the "Get Acrobat" icon : INITIAL v. FINAL DECISIONS: Most decisions issued by the Office of Administrative Law are not final administrative decisions, but are "Initial Decisions." These are subject to review by the head of the transmitting agency, who may adopt, reject, or modify the initial decision within 45 days of receipt. N.J.S.A. 52:14B-10(c). Certain matters, such as Special Education cases ("EDS docket numbers), are final administrative decisions. The status of a decision as initial or final is stated at the top of each document. |
